……Something to Ponder…..

“In the name of the best within you, DO NOT sacrifice this world for those who are its worst.
In the name of the values that keep you alive, DO NOT let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless, in those who have never achieved their title.

DO NOT let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all.

DO NOT let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved but have not been able to reach.

Check your road and the nature of your battle – the world you desire can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible.”

~Ayn Rand (Author of: Fountain Head, Anthem, Atlas Shrugged and many more) I highly suggest all her books!

The Worst Learning Environment

Can you think of an environment most people are exposed to everyday, that could be negatively effecting the way your brain learns and grows?

According to Brain Rules (chapter 2, pg. 32) “The brain appears to be designed to: (1) solve problems (2) related to surviving (3) in an unstable environment, and (4) to do so in near constant motion.”  So, where do we find ourselves on most days? At school, or in the office, sitting.  What if, in schools, we had our pop quizzes while on a recumbent bike?  Or, if you work in an office, your meetings were held while you were on a recumbent bike, or walking on a treadmill?  It might make for better test scores, or more lively employees…what do you think?
